The jazz performance clinic is the heart of the Bob James Jazz Festival. Thirteen area musicians of various ages took the opportunity to learn about jazz from masters of the art — piano legend Bob James, Metropolitan Jazz Workshop Director Clarence Smith, Joe Athon, Bill Richardson and Bill McKemy.

Sedville Jazz Company from Sedalia returned to open the fourth annual Bob James Jazz Festival with a set Friday, May 16, at Missouri Valley College’s Eckilson-Mabee Theatre. The group shared great classic jazz from its standards repertoire.
