In 1996 keyboardist Bob James and tenor-saxophonist Kirk Whalum joined forces to record Joined At The Hip for the Warner Bros. label. James and Whalum had crossed paths on numerous occasions during the previous 12 years and, despite James’ seniority, they were co-leaders on this popular set.
